Salary: £24,000 – £26,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (flexibility required)

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Senior Cleaning Operative to join our facilities team, delivering high standards of cleaning across a portfolio of commercial office contracts. This role combines hands-on cleaning duties with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring service excellence and compliance with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitising office spaces
  • Clean communal areas such as kitchens, restrooms, and meeting rooms
  • Ensure high standards of hygiene and presentation are consistently maintained
  • Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively
  • Oversee a small team of cleaning operatives on-site
  • Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance
  • Provide training and support to new and existing staff
  • Conduct regular quality checks and audits
  • Ensure adequate stock levels of cleaning supplies and report shortages
  • Liaise with site managers and clients to address any issues or special requests
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules and completed tasks
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and health & safety regulations

Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in commercial or office cleaning
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience
  • Good understanding of cleaning methods, equipment, and COSHH regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude

Desirable

  • Experience working in multi-site or contract cleaning environments
  • Basic IT skills for reporting and communication
  • Health & Safety or cleaning-related certifications
